Our Mission

The mission of the Center for Clinical Studies (CCS) at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine is to facilitate clinical research of the highest quality – supporting the effective evaluation of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and treatment outcomes – by providing the Washington University research community with administrative and clinical research services that move trials efficiently from initial proposal through study close-out. We assist with clinical research studies supported by federal and foundation grants and industry contracts, including strong support for investigator-initiated studies. Our services include study placement, IRB and other regulatory support and guidance, comprehensive budget development and contract negotiation, recruitment support services (including a centralized research participant database), expert study coordination, dedicated research space and quality improvement initiatives. Our services facilitate regulatory compliance and operational best practices to optimally support the clinical research endeavor.
